Whilst it feels like October has only just begun, Halloween is fast approaching, and with that, so are the colder months. This month hasn't quite been as cold as expected and the cozy jumpers haven't made an appearance, but during this in-between season kinda month I've been reaching for products that feel more comforting, hydrating and just a little bit indulgent.
This month’s favourites lean heavily towards vanilla scents, nourishing the skin and a bit of pampering.
Saltaire Salt Water Vanilla Body Butter
First up is a brand new product AND brand for me - the Salt Water Vanilla Body Butter from Saltair. This smells divine, probably the best scented body butter I've ever used, and one that will definitely be reappearing in my bodycare cupboard when it's empty! The texture is rich and nourishing but not greasy, so I don't need to wait around for it to soak in before getting dressed. The scent lingers on the skin, it's almost like wearing a perfume, lush!
Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum
A viral product, from a viral brand, and after trying this out, I can see why. The Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum is a lightweight serum that not only sinks into the skin quickly but layers perfectly with my moisturiser. It feels nice and hydrating and it feels good knowing that I'm protecting my skin barrier as the weather turns cooler.
Byoma Hydrating Milky Toner
One of the more affordable skincare products in my routine at the moment. The Byoma Hydrating Milky Toner is gentle, hydrating and soothing. It gets it's name from its milky texture that preps my skin perfectly for the rest of my routine.
Laneige Berry Sweet Lip Trio
You know I love a Laneige lip product so when I saw this cute set I had to have it. The set includes a full size of the Lip Sleeping Mask in strawberry shortcake (delicious!) and two mini lip glowy balms in Berry and Vanilla. After trying several of the lip glowy balms, I think my all time fave has to be gummy bear, but these two are close joint second. The lip sleeping mask is my go-to overnight to wake up to soft lips in the morning and the balms are perfect for keeping in my bag for when I'm out and about.
This little set would also make a great stocking filler if you're starting your Christmas shopping early!
Phlur Vanilla Skin Body Mist
After trying a huge amount of fragrances through Advent Season, I've definitely discovered that my go-to scents include vanilla notes! If the body butter is the base layer, this is the finishing touch. Vanilla Skin from Phlur is soft, cosy and it’s the kind of scent that has people asking what you’re wearing. It’s lighter than a full perfume, so I spritz it on without overthinking - all over my hair and body.
Biodance Bio Collagen Real Deep Mask
Saving the best for last. These have become a staple in not only my skincare routine, but Dan's too! The viral Bio Collagen Real Deep Mask from Biodance is a hydrating and firming mask that leaves my skin looking bouncy and hydrated. It takes a bit of getting used to, leaving the mask on for several hours as I'm used to only having a mask on for 20-30 mins max, but knowing that my skin is drinking up all that goodness is fab.
So those are a few of my October faves, a mix of cosy scents, skin-soothing heroes and low-effort luxuries that make the shift into colder weather feel a bit more luxurious.
